Obituary - JOSEPH EDWARD HAGAN, Louisville Courier-Journal (September 16, 2001)
He was a teacher and coach in Jefferson County Public High Schools, where he worked for 42 years. He was a member of St. Xavier High School Athletic Hall of Fame and Jefferson Co. Athletic Directors Hall of Fame and st. Raphael the Archangel Church. He was a former member of U of K's Men's Basketball team and co-captain of the UK-Football team.
Survivors: his wife, Maynette S. Hagan; his sons, Joseph R., Dr. Ketih W., and Thomas M. Hagan; his sisters, Louise Rush, Francis Ambrose, Clara Roman, Geraldine Manning, Josephine Harwood and Edith Sinkhorn; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial mass: noon, Wednesday at his church. Interment of ashes: Calvary Cemetery. Memorial visitations: after 11 a.m. Wednesday at his church, Bardstown and Lancashire Rds. Memorial gifts: St. Xavier High School Scholarship Fund. Arranged by Highlands Funeral Home.
