FENCE COMPANY OWNER IS DEAD
Former Athletic Head Services Held
Funeral services for Leo A. Ernst were held Monday at 11:30 a.m. from Jacob Schoen and Sons Inc. 3827 Canal St. The Rev. Albert Link of Gentilly Presbyterian Church presided. Interment followed in Metairie Cemetery.
Mr. Ernst, the owner of Ernst Fence Co, died Saturday in Baptist Hospital following brief illness. He was 77.
A native of New Orleans, he was educated at Warren Easton High School and Notre Dame and Columbia Universities. He was a former coach at Holy Cross High School and was head of the Kingsley House Athletic Department.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Rotary Club of New Orleans, the Navy American Legion Post NO. 230, and the Metairie Country Club.
He is survived by his widow, the former Myrtle Seymour; one daughter, Mrs. Emory Cantey of Fort Worth, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Charles Cottier; and three grandchildren.
His pallbearers were: W.G. Seymour, William Lyncker, Leo Lyncker, Frank Moran, Clarence Parent and John Cassreino.
