Obituary - The Tennessean (April 11, 1983)
Hubert Willis (Lefty) Hardcastle, 58, well-known sports figure in Nashville, died yesterday after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
Hardcastle was an outstanding sandlot and professional baseball figure here. He also was a long-time football and basketball official in high school circles before being hired by the Southeastern Conference as a basketball official.
The body is at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home where services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m.
