Takes Basket Ball Game From Lexington High School by Score of 28 to 9
The State University basket ball team took their first game from the Lexington High School team Saturday afternoon by a score of 28 to 9. The game was played in the State University gymnasium and was witnessed by a large crowd. The State boys seemed to have the advantage over the High School team, but State made thirteen fouls while only three were called upon the High School boys. State scored twice from her three fouls while the High School scored only twice from thirteen fouls. Fox and Plummer played the best ball for State, while Willis scored the most points for the High School.

Basketball Results
In a game of basket ball in which they were outclassed the Lexington High School was defeated yesterday afternoon by the State University team by a score of 29 to 9.
While the High School team put up a good game, they were unable to do anything to the big State boys, who were much heavier and a better team. The game was rough.
While the High School team is good at goal throwing, they did not have a chance as their forwards were covered at every point of the game by the guards of the Blue and White team.
As the High School team defeated Transylvania last Wednesday and they in turn defeated by the State team the "dope sheet" gives State the advantage by a good score. The State University team is very enthusiastic over the good showing made by the team at the first of the season and they hope to keep a clean score card for the rest of the season.

BASKET BALL
The Georgetown College and Transylvania University will line up Saturday night for their first game of the season in the gymnasium building at Transylvania University. The game will be called at 8 o'clock. Both teams have been working hard and a good game is expected.
The State University basket ball team met the strong team from the Lexington High School at 3 p.m. at the State University gymnasium. This is the first game the cadets have played this season. The High SChool is said to have a strong team. They defeated Transylvania University a few days ago by the score of 47 to 29.

The crack High School basket ball team will line-up against the basket ball team of State University this afternoon at the State gymnasium and the little team since it defeated the Transylvania team are confident of winning from the cadets.
The High School team is in fine condition having practiced together for some time and as the State team has not had so much practice they hope to beat them this afternoon. Coach Van Meter of the High School says that if his team defeats State he will challenge Georgetown for a game. Much interest is being taken in basket ball this season by the public and large attendance is expected during the season.
